Former Chair, Republican Governors' Association. State Assemblyman, 1967-87 (State House Minority Leader, 1981-87; Assistant State House Minority Leader, 1973-81).

PROFESSIONAL: Practicing Attorney, 1966-86. Captain, Wisconsin National Guard & US Army Reserve.

EDUCATION: B.S. (Political Science), University of Wisconsin, 1963. J.D., University of Wisconsin, 1966.

PERSONAL: Born November 19, 1941 in Elroy, Wisconsin. Married to Sue Ann Thompson. Three children. Roman Catholic.
