ANALYSIS:
Dr. Keyes was by far the most fiery orator among the field of GOP candidates for 2000. He was also
among the most conservative of the Republican contenders. Keyes performed better than expected in the Iowa Caucuses, but otherwise ran a noisy but ineffective campaign against the unstoppable Bush juggernault. In April 2000, Keyes threatened he would bolt to the Constitution Party if Bush ultimately picked a pro-choice VP runningmate. When Bush selected pro-life Dick Cheney as his runningmate on July 25, 2000, Keyes withdrew and endorsed Bush later that same day.

THE ALAN L. KEYES LIBRARY:
Our Character, Our Future: Reclaiming America's Moral Destiny by Alan L. Keyes (1996). Keyes wrote this political manifesto to be the platform for his 1996 Presidential campaign. As Keyes' political views remain unchanged and uncompromising, this book is equally relevant for his 2000 campaign. In the book, Keyes mainly stresses his social conservative agenda on issues including abortion, homosexuality, welfare reform, religion, morality, etc. Keyes heavily relies on the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution and the Bible to support many of his positions. The book is a collection of 4 speeches and 31 revised newspaper columns by Keyes. Follow the link to read more about the book. List: $9.99. Your Price: $7.99 (You Save 20%). (Paperback.)
